Dr Tobias Blay is currently Assistant Professor for Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior at the University of Goettingen, Germany. He served as Visiting Fellow at London School of Economics, UK, and Cornell University, USA.
His research focuses on human resource management and organizational behavior, with a special interest in virtual collaboration and virtual teams. Additionally, he is interested in researching the global facets of virtual work, international work arrangements, and future work trends in these areas. His research has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Applied Psychology and the Journal of International Business Studies. For his dissertation, he received the Schmalenbach-Award from the German Schmalenbach Society.
His teaching focuses on topics related to human resource management and organizational behavior at the bachelor and master levels. His courses include introduction to human resource management, selected topics in human resource management (e.g., virtual teamwork and use of digital technologies), and empirical methods. He also supervises bachelor and master theses, and mentors doctoral students.
