Dr Tobias Blay is currently an Assistant Professor for Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior at the University of Goettingen, Germany. He served as Visiting Fellow at London School of Economics, UK, and Cornell University, USA.
His research focuses on human resource management and organizational behavior, with a special interest in the future of work. He studies virtual work, global work, and the role of technology in shaping people and work in organizations. His research has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of International Business Studies, and Human Resource Management. For his dissertation, he received the Schmalenbach Award. He is the principal investigator of a Scientific Network on 'global virtual work', funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation).
His teaching focuses on topics related to human resource management and organizational behavior at the bachelor's and master's level. His courses include human resource management topics across the employee life cycle, the Future of Work, and empirical methods. He also supervises bachelor's and master's theses, and mentors doctoral students.
